BCF- The Sparkling Light over the Sky

This was the first time, i shall say, to really try on the fireworks shooting. yeap, it was at the closing ceremony of BCF. There were a lots of people, as well as photographer. When the performance at the stage nearly finish, i can see some of the photographers, one hand with their camera, another with the tripod heading toward their preferred location waiting for the last firework performance. it was a long long waiting there as the last last performance was quite a long one. But, it worth the waiting. As usual, i missed the first shot as i was adjusting the setting. During the opening ceremony time too, i missed the first few shot. Haiz... what an experience. anyway, it was a good one to experience the firework shooting. Somehow i found out that a tripod is a must, but it can be distractor if u dont know how to use it. Hoppe got more chance for firework shooting in the future.

BCF- Ferris Wheel aka The Memory Wheel

It dig out so much memories when i look at 'this thing'. Memories that are sweet, bad, sad, all come at a moment without allowing me to think about it first. well, of course there is story behind it, not that im mad or crazy or something. That's why i called it the memory wheel. Does it dig out ur memories too???

BCF- Red Packet

I'm wondering what a red packet means to you guys. It means something to me, something that i become more and more appreciate as the amount get less and lesser year by year. put aside the content inside 'em, there can be more than just a piece of paper with some funny pic printed on it and some prerequisite that make it something of value. What about if u get a red packet with nothing inside? Will you still grab it, or even look it in your eyes? Will it still means something to you? or merely a unless red inked packet. Now, how about u take something, anything...and put inside the empty red packet, build your own thing inside instead receiving something that other had built, prepared for you? Isn't it now contended, with something from u urself instead from other people? Isn't it mean more now to yourself? Isn't it now that you will become more appreciate it as it is you that had built it out internally though the outside is not from ur work? Isn't it something of value from urself, where it can have more value that just the ridiculously printed piece of paper with number on it? Isn't it???

"I-Dont-Know-What-It-Is" Patung

It was taken at my dad's office, where a lot of i dont know what it is patung are displayed. Some for feng shui i guess, but some are just decoration or collection i shall say. this one was quite special with its face emotion and it's filled with dirt. spider web all around with the faded colour. I kinda like this patung in that particular condition.

Rajang Before the Sunset

The river shown in the pic is the Malaysia's longest river- The Rajang River. With total length of approximately 760km, it originated from the Iran Mountain on this Borneo Island and flow to the South China Sea. The are few sub-rivers or what we called the tibutaries which are more popular like Katibas River, Kanowit River, Bankgit River and so on...And the Katibas River is located at my hometown. Well, just to let you know that the place where i was born was SIBU, but I grew up at SONG, which is another place where it can only be reached by taking an on water express. Sibu is a much more developed place compared to SONG which used to be called as bazaar. In case you still dont know where is Sibu, it is the place where currently organising the BCF, Borneo Cultural Festival which is the biggest event of the year. And this year even biggest with the Prime Minister here during the opening ceremony. Gonna visit the BCF tomorrow night for the ending and perhap snap more photo...

Well, Im too far away from the Rajang River. But, there's nothing much about the river also. I can have more stories bout it when go years backward when the water was still clear and we all kids man adult old ppl can have so much activities with it... river as our swimming pool for example... But now, it's pretty much polluted. It's like you can bring your own cup and enjoy a Teh Tarik Ais, perhap Milo Ais will do too... lol... The only unpolluted one is at the ulu ulu place, where you have to climb over the mountain, yet another mountain and mountain, then you can find cristal clear water...

Im trying a one pic per day task!!! this is the second day

The last stop...

yea, this is the last stop for my wish list...

nothing but the camera gears and accessories can be this last wish list!!

Target Number 1: 50mm f/1.8 len

the picture above already showed what the len can do, that's the bokeh effect... well, bokeh is the blur affect behind the subject that you shoot whereas the subject is sharp in focus... another example is shown below...

this lens is a must (unless you choose to get 85mm f/1.8) and always be the second lens that every dslr photographer will get after starting their photography journey...

price around RM300, can be cheaper depends on where u get it.
just for more information, there are 50mm f/1.4 and f/1.2 available too for pro-er photographer and those who can afford the price. f/1.4 is more than RM1K, no idea how much is f/1.2

Target Number 2: Canon 430exII speedlite

well, external flash is another must (though build in flash is available) for a photograper besides other 'must' thing like tripod, 50mm, camera bag... blar blar blar...

RM 1100 from Canon shop

that's all for my wish list... a conclusion to be made here... i personally think i'll go for the 50mm f/1.8 first coz it's cheaper.... next i'll get myself the flash!!!! I WILL!!! but not now... for the HTC phone i think, i think it's just a short term favourite plus it never fully satisfied me with its feature and function... i will stay with my SE w810i for now until i think it's really time for a new mobile phone...

Sibu Borneo Cultural Festival to be next!!!
